Day 1: Sunday, October 3, 2027

We fly to Albuquerque and travel north to beautiful Santa Fe, the oldest capital city in the United States. Upon arrival, we check into the iconic La Fonda on the Plaza, perfectly situated in the heart of Santa Fe’s historic district. This afternoon, we enjoy free time to explore the charming Plaza at our own pace. Browse unique shops and galleries, relax with a cup of coffee, or simply soak in the atmosphere of this enchanting Southwestern city. Tonight, enjoy dinner on your own and settle in for two nights at historic La Fonda on the Plaza.

 

Day 2: Monday, October 4, 2027

After breakfast, we board the Santa Fe Sky Railway for a unique and entertaining rail experience through the stunning New Mexico landscape. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the scenery as we travel aboard this one-of-a-kind excursion. Following free time for lunch on the Plaza, we visit the renowned Museum of International Folk Art, home to one of the world’s largest collections of folk art and cultural treasures. The remainder of the afternoon is ours to enjoy Santa Fe’s historic Plaza. Browse shops, discover local artisans, or simply enjoy the relaxed pace of this beloved destination. This evening, we gather for an included dinner at Santa Fe’s celebrated Coyote Café. (B, D)

 

Day 3: Tuesday, October 5, 2027

Today we discover the rich history and culture of Santa Fe during a guided city tour. Highlights include the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, the famous Loretto Chapel, the Historic Plaza, and the Palace of the Governors. We continue to the New Mexico History Museum before enjoying an included lunch at The Shed, one of Santa Fe’s most iconic restaurants known for its authentic New Mexican cuisine. This afternoon, we enjoy more free time on the Plaza before departing for Albuquerque via the scenic Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway. Along the way, we stop in historic Madrid, a former coal mining town that has transformed into a colorful artist community. Upon arrival in Albuquerque, we check into Embassy Suites and enjoy the evening reception. (B, L)

 

Day 4: Wednesday, October 6, 2027

Today is one of the highlights of our journey! Before dawn, we make our way to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta for an exclusive VIP Morning Dining Experience at the Balloon Museum, with indoor and outdoor seating. Overlooking Balloon Fiesta Park, we enjoy indoor seating in a private solarium with balcony views as the excitement begins to build. Our VIP experience includes gourmet catered dining, shuttle transportation between the museum and launch field, access to Balloon Museum exhibits, a commemorative lapel pin, and admission to Balloon Fiesta events during our session.

As the sun rises, we witness the breathtaking Mass Ascension as hundreds of colorful hot air balloons launch into the New Mexico sky. This extraordinary spectacle is considered one of the world’s most photographed events and is truly unforgettable.

Following our Balloon Fiesta experience, we return to the hotel for a relaxing midday break. Later this afternoon, we enjoy an introductory tour of Albuquerque and spend time exploring charming Old Town Albuquerque. Tonight, we enjoy dinner at the famous El Pinto Restaurant, a beloved New Mexico institution known for its authentic cuisine and beautiful setting. (B, D)

Day 5: Thursday, October 7, 2027

This morning, we visit the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, see a Native dance presentation and have included lunch at Indian Pueblo Kitchen. Then, we ride the Sandia Peak Tramway, soaring above deep canyons and rugged mountain terrain with panoramic views of the Rio Grande Valley.

Later, we return to Balloon Fiesta Park for our exclusive VIP Evening Balloon Fiesta Experience. From our premium viewing area, we enjoy gourmet dining and exceptional views as the Balloon Glow begins. Dozens of illuminated balloons create a magical display of color and light against the evening sky. The festivities continue with skydivers, a dazzling drone light show, and the spectacular AfterGlow fireworks finale. (B, L, D)

Day 6: Friday, October 8, 2027

Today we explore more of New Mexico’s rich cultural heritage. We begin at Petroglyph National Monument, home to thousands of ancient rock carvings created by Native peoples and early Spanish settlers. Next, we visit Avanyu Plaza, featuring Native-owned shops and cultural experiences. For lunch, enjoy time on your own at Sawmill Market, Albuquerque’s premier food hall featuring a wide variety of local restaurants and specialty vendors.

This afternoon, we attend the acclaimed Rio Grande Arts & Crafts Festival, one of the nation’s premier fine art festivals. Browse hundreds of artist booths featuring paintings, pottery, jewelry, textiles, and handcrafted treasures while enjoying live entertainment and the festive atmosphere.

After returning to the hotel for time to relax, we gather for a memorable farewell evening featuring an authentic Flamenco performance accompanied by a delicious tapas dinner. (B, D)

Day 7: Saturday, October 9, 2027

This morning, we transfer to the airport for our flight home, taking with us wonderful memories of New Mexico’s breathtaking scenery, rich culture, and the unforgettable spectacle of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta. (B)
