We begin our adventure to beautiful New England today, traveling through Indiana and into Ohio, where we overnight at the Drury Inn Columbus Polaris in Columbus, Ohio. Enjoy the included Kickback dinner at the hotel tonight. (D)
Day 2: Saturday, October 2, 2027
Today we continue our journey, overnighting at the beautiful Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, New York. You will receive a $20 dinner coupon to use at any food venue in the resort. You will also receive $10 free play. (B, D)
Day 3: Sunday, October 3, 2027
Enjoy breakfast with a meal voucher before we depart. This afternoon – welcome to the beautiful Green Mountains of Vermont! We will arrive in the lovely town of Manchester, VT, in time for lunch on your own before visiting Hildene, the former summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln, son of Abraham Lincoln and his wife, Mary Harlan Lincoln.
We’ll tour the 24-room Georgian Revival mansion, restored Pullman car, goat dairy, Dene Farm (dene – valley with stream), and magnificent gardens.
We’ll then continue north to the Green Mountain Inn for a relaxing two-night stay. We have time to settle in before enjoying a delicious dinner together. (B, D)
Day 4: Monday, October 4, 2027
After breakfast, we will meet our local guide and begin a spectacular day touring around northern Vermont, enjoying the splendid foliage and countryside. We’ll visit a traditional Maple Sugar House for a demonstration and maple treat! Then, we’re off to Stowe, where the Hills Come Alive with a special visit to the famous Trapp Family Lodge.
As Maria von Trapp once said, “Our life is like a beautiful story that happens to be true.”
We’ll enjoy a savory Austrian-inspired lunch and hear their story on a unique History Tour! Later, enjoy free time in the village of Stowe for dinner on your own. (B, L)
Day 5: Tuesday, October 5, 2027
This morning, we depart for a day of exploration of New Hampshire’s majestic White Mountains. Upon arrival, we visit the iconic Mount Washington Hotel, a grand Spanish Renaissance masterpiece built in 1902. We enjoy a guided tour of this National Historic Landmark, cherished by presidents, poets, and royalty alike, followed by a luncheon in the hotel’s elegant dining room.
This afternoon, we continue to the legendary Mount Washington Cog Railway, a remarkable 19th-century engineering marvel. We ride aboard this one-of-a-kind train as it climbs the steep mountainside, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
Later, we check into the beautiful Glen House Hotel, nestled at the base of the historic Mount Washington Auto Road. After time to relax, we gather for a delicious dinner at the hotel, followed by an informative presentation from a local historian who shares fascinating stories and insights about Mount Washington and its rich history. Day 6: Wednesday, October 6, 2027
After breakfast, we continue our scenic journey through Maine’s inland passages toward Mount Desert Island, gateway to the famed Acadia National Park and the beloved village of Bar Harbor. Along the way, discover the charms of midcoast Maine with a stop in the picture-perfect harbor town of Camden. Here, enjoy leisure time to wander through its inviting shops, stroll the waterfront, or savor lunch on your own in one of the cozy local cafés.
Next, ascend Mount Battie, where sweeping views of Camden Harbor, Penobscot Bay, and the rugged Maine coastline unfold in a breathtaking panorama.
By late afternoon, we arrive in beautiful Bar Harbor and check into the Bar Harbor Regency Resort/Eden House, our home for the next two nights. Take time to relax and settle in before joining the group for a delicious lobster dinner at the Bar Harbor Club this evening. (B, D)
Day 7: Thursday, October 7, 2027
This morning, we will meet our local guide for a three-hour tour through one of America’s beautiful and treasured National Parks, Acadia National Park. We’ll visit Thunder Hole and other scenic picture stops and travel to the top of Cadillac Mountain for spectacular views of Frenchman’s Bay, Porcupine Islands and Bar Harbor.
Enjoy the afternoon and evening at leisure in Bar Harbor. Stroll along the waterfront, browse quaint shops, or choose from a variety of restaurants for dinner on your own. (B)
Day 8: Friday, October 8, 2027
Our day begins with a venture down to Coastal Maine for a visit to the popular summer resort of Kennebunkport for a scenic drive along the ocean to Walker’s Point, viewing the summer home of past President George H.W. Bush.
We’ll enjoy time at Dock Square for shopping and lunch on your own before continuing to the delightful village of Ogunquit, named by the Abenaki Indians, which means “Beautiful Place by the Sea,” and board the ‘Finest Kind’ Lobster Cruise for an authentic lobstering experience!
We’ll then check into the Anchorage by the Sea in Ogunquit for the evening. This evening we gather for dinner together. (B, D)
Day 9: Saturday, October 9, 2027
After breakfast, we continue south along the beautiful New England coastline. Our day begins with a photo stop at Cape Neddick Light, better known as “The Nubble,” one of the most photographed lighthouses in the United States.
We then continue to Cape Cod, where we meet our local guide for an afternoon exploring some of the Cape’s most treasured communities. In Sandwich, the oldest town on Cape Cod, we discover centuries of history, colonial charm, and classic New England character. We learn about the town’s early settlement, renowned glassmaking heritage, historic homes, and picturesque village streets.
Our tour continues through Hyannis, the vibrant heart of Cape Cod, known for its connection to the Kennedy family, bustling harborfront, and inviting Main Street. We make a special stop at the John F. Kennedy Memorial, overlooking Veterans Park and Hyannis Harbor, where we reflect on the deep ties President Kennedy shared with Cape Cod.
Later this afternoon, we arrive at the beautiful Red Jacket Beach Resort, overlooking scenic Nantucket Sound, where we enjoy a relaxing two-night stay. This evening, dinner is at the resort in the peaceful coastal setting. (B, D)
Day 10: Sunday, October 10, 2027
After breakfast, we meet our local guide and embark on a high-speed ferry ride across Nantucket Sound to the enchanting island of Nantucket, affectionately known as “The Grey Lady.”
Once the whaling capital of the world during the 1800s, Nantucket remains one of New England’s most treasured destinations, celebrated for its timeless beauty, maritime heritage, and charming island atmosphere.
A guided tour takes us along cobblestone streets and narrow lanes lined with charming Quaker-style cottages and elegant homes built during Nantucket’s prosperous whaling era.
Following our tour, we enjoy free time to browse Nantucket’s delightful shops, galleries, and boutiques, or simply relax in this picturesque island village.
Later, we return by ferry to the mainland for a New England dinner as we celebrate a memorable day exploring one of the region’s most beloved coastal treasures. (B, D)
Day 11: Monday, October 11, 2027
After breakfast, we check out and travel to beautiful Newport, Rhode Island, one of New England’s most elegant seaside destinations. Upon arrival, we meet our local guide for a tour of Newport’s famous Ten Mile Drive, where we step back into the opulent days of the Gilded Age. Along the way, we learn about the wealthy families, including the Vanderbilts and Astors, who built magnificent summer estates here to escape the heat and bustle of city life.
Our next stop is The Breakers, the grandest of Newport’s legendary “summer cottages” and a lasting symbol of the Vanderbilt family’s extraordinary wealth and influence. We enjoy a self-guided tour through this magnificent mansion and its beautiful grounds, gaining a glimpse into the lavish lifestyle of America’s elite during the turn of the twentieth century.
Following our visit, we have the opportunity to step onto Newport’s world-famous Cliff Walk, where stunning ocean views and spectacular Gilded Age architecture come together along the rugged coastline.
Midday, we enjoy free time along Newport’s vibrant harborfront, where we can browse unique shops, explore the historic brick marketplace, and enjoy lunch on our own.
This afternoon, we experience Newport from the water aboard a scenic Schooner Champagne Cruise through Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay. As we sail aboard a classic schooner in the “Sailing Capital of America,” we take in spectacular views of grand seaside mansions, Jacqueline Kennedy’s summer home, the impressive Newport Bridge, and other notable coastal landmarks.
Following our cruise, we check into the Newport Harbor Hotel. This evening, we celebrate our time in New England with a farewell dinner. (B, D)
Day 12: Tuesday, October 12, 2027
After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and begin our journey home. As we travel westward, we reflect on the wonderful memories we have made together while exploring New England’s colorful fall foliage, charming villages, historic landmarks, rugged coastlines, and picturesque islands.
This evening, we arrive at The Inn at Leola Village for our overnight stay. (B)

Continuing our journey home, we will overnight at the Drury Inn, Columbus Grove City. Enjoy the Kickback Dinner at the hotel. (B, D)
