We board the ferry to Mackinac Island this morning! Upon arrival, we will take a horse-drawn tour of the island. There will then be time for lunch on your own and shopping in the downtown area of Mackinac Island. This afternoon, a taxi ticket will be provided for your transportation to the beautiful Grand Hotel, the crown jewel of pristine, secluded Mackinac Island, for the next two nights. The Grand Hotel has been America’s Summer Place since 1887. This evening, dress in your finest for dinner off the menu in the Main Dining Room (sport coat or suit and tie for men). After dinner, enjoy coffee service (demitasse) along with a lovely recital in the parlor. Later, choose from the intimate piano bar in the cupola or dancing to the full orchestra in the ballroom (Terrace Room). (B, D)

Day 4: Thursday, August 26, 2027
Rise and Shine coffee service is available for early risers in the parlor this morning. A full breakfast is included in the Main Dining Room. Enjoy your day visiting the gardens, stables, and galleries of the hotel. Or perhaps sit on the longest front porch in the world and enjoy a bottle of Coke from the antique Coke cart. Today is free for you to explore this glorious island and beautiful hotel! This evening, dinner is included in the Main Dining Room, with after-dinner activities available. (B, D)
Day 5: Friday, August 27, 2027
Following breakfast this morning, we ferry to Mackinaw City to depart for Frankenmuth, Michigan, “Michigan’s Little Bavaria” and the state’s number one tourist attraction. Upon arrival, we will visit Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland, the world’s largest Christmas store. The Bavarian Inn Lodge is our home tonight, nestled on the banks of the Cass River. The lodge has created an authentic German atmosphere including hand-carved woodwork, imported German wall décor, and Old World hospitality. Dinner is included tonight at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant.
