Day 1: Friday, October 2
We begin our adventure with a relaxing travel day as we depart Paducah and make our way to Nashville.
This evening, we settle into the Drury Airport Hotel Nashville, enjoying time to rest and prepare for the days ahead. Excitement builds as we look forward to the beauty of New England in autumn. (D)
Day 2: Saturday, October 3
This morning, we fly from Nashville to Albany before making our way into the charming Green Mountains
of Vermont. Our first destination is Manchester, where we visit Hildene, the magnificent Robert Todd Lincoln family estate. We spend ample time exploring the historic mansion, gardens, and sweeping mountain views—an elegant introduction to the region. Afterwards, we continue north to the Photo courtesy of Hildene beautiful Essex Resort & Spa in Essex, Vermont, where we relax for the evening amid serene countryside surroundings. (B, D)
Day 3: Sunday, October 4
Today we continue discovering Vermont’s natural and cultural treasures. We begin with a visit to Palmer’s Maple Sugar House, where we learn about the art of maple sugaring and enjoy the flavors of this iconic local treat. Our day continues as we travel to the world-famous Trapp Family Lodge, the Austrian- inspired estate built by the family who inspired The Sound of Music. Nestled atop rolling hills, it offers stunning panoramic views of Stowe’s fall foliage. It’s a peaceful, breathtaking stop that connects history, music and nature. Afterwards, we visit Cabot’s, known for its award-winning cheeses and Vermont- made goods, before returning to our resort for another restful evening. (B, L)

Day 4: Monday, October 5
After checking out this morning, we head into the dramatic landscapes of New Hampshire’s White
Mountains. Our day begins at the grand Mount Washington Hotel, where we enjoy a guided tour of this historic landmark nestled at the base of the highest peak in the Northeast. We continue with an unforgettable ride on the Mount Washington Cog Railway, climbing the slopes of this legendary mountain with sweeping views at every turn—a classic New England experience. Later, we travel to the scenic Glen House Hotel, surrounded by mountain vistas, where we settle in for the evening. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Tuesday, October 6
Today we journey from the mountains to the sea as we head toward Coastal Maine and Mount Desert
Island. Along the way, we stop in the charming harbor town of Camden, a quintessential New England village filled with boutiques, fishing boats and postcard-perfect views. We travel to Mount Battie, where the overlook provides sweeping vistas of Camden Harbor and the islands scattered across Penobscot Bay. Our scenic afternoon continues as we drive the famed Kancamagus Highway, renowned for its breathtaking foliage and mountain views. By evening, we arrive at the Bar Harbor Regency, our home for the next two nights. (B, D)
Day 6: Wednesday, October 7
This morning, we explore the rugged and beautiful Acadia National Park, beginning with the roaring power of Thunder Hole and continuing to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, where expansive views stretch over the Atlantic and the islands below. The afternoon is free for us to enjoy Bar Harbor at our own pace—whether strolling the waterfront, shopping, savoring lobster rolls or simply relaxing by the ocean. We return to the Bar Harbor Regency for another peaceful evening by the coast. (B)

Day 7: Thursday, October 8
After departing the hotel, we travel south along Maine’s picturesque coast to Kennebunkport, with a
stop at Walker’s Point, the summer retreat of the Bush family. The coastal scenery here is stunning and timeless. We continue to Dock Square, where we enjoy time for lunch and browsing a few of the charming local shops. Then it’s on to Ogunquit, known for its dramatic coastline and artistic flair. Here, we embark on the Finestkind Lobster Cruise, a delightful experience offering a close look at lobster fishing and beautiful views of Perkins Cove from the water. Afterwards, we settle in for the night at Anchorage by the Sea, perfectly located along Ogunquit’s scenic shoreline. (B, D)

Day 8: Friday, October 9
Our morning begins with a visit to Nubble Light, perched on a rocky island off York’s coast—one of
the most photographed lighthouses in America. We then travel south to Plymouth, where we visit the harbor area and learn about the town’s historic role in the earliest chapters of American history. Continuing onward, we make our way to Hyannisport, with visits to the Kennedy Memorial and the Korean War Memorial, followed by time in the scenic harbor area. By late afternoon, we arrive at the Red Jacket Beach Resort on Cape Cod, where we relax for the evening. (B, D)


Day 9: Saturday, October 10
Today we travel to Woods Hole and board the Steamship Authority Ferry for a beautiful crossing to Martha’s Vineyard. We spend the day exploring the island’s charming towns, beaches and boutiques at our own pace. After returning by ferry in the afternoon, we head back to the Red Jacket Beach Resort for another relaxing evening. (B, D)
Day 10: Sunday, October 11
Another day of coastal beauty awaits as we begin with a visit to a working cranberry bog, learning
about one of Cape Cod’s signature industries. We continue to Chatham for views of the historic Chatham Light, standing watch over miles of sandy shoreline. From there, we follow the scenic Cape Cod National Seashore, where dunes and ocean views frame our drive toward Provincetown. In Provincetown, we embark on a guided sand dune tour, venturing out among the rolling dunes and dramatic shoreline that have inspired artists and writers for generations. Afterwards, we enjoy time to explore Provincetown’s shops, galleries or cafés, before returning to our resort. (B, D)
Day 11: Monday, October 12
We enjoy our final morning on Cape Cod before departing for Boston. From here, we fly back to Nashville and continue home, carrying wonderful memories of fall foliage, charming towns, coastal beauty and the best of New England in autumn. (B)
