Of all cities and towns in the country, spending America’s birthday in the national capital is sure to be a stand-out event! Day 1

We travel by motorcoach to St. Louis Airport (STL) and fly to Washington D.C. (DCA). Dinner is included tonight at Tony and Joe’s Seafood Place, before we settle in this evening in our hotel for our entire stay, Embassy Suites by Hilton Crystal City. (D)

Day 2

A full day of D.C. sight-seeing awaits us today! Our local tour guide leads us along the city’s highlights, including the White House Visitor Center, the National Cathedral, and Washington Monument. After lunch, you can visit the Museum of the Bible, the United States Botanic Gardens, or the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. Tonight for dinner, we enjoy an evening of Spanish fare and live flamenco dancing at Taberna del Alabardero, originally founded in Spain in the 1970s. The finale to our day is a privately-guided Monument Night Tour of Washington, D.C. including WWII, Lincoln, Korea, and Vietnam Memorials. (B, D)

Day 3 – Fourth of July!
Happy Independence Day! This morning, we visit the Martin Luther King, Jr. and FDR Monuments before traveling a a short distance to Mt. Vernon, the historic estate of George Washington. Following a buffet lunch at Mt. Vernon, we will tour the mansion and have time to explore the museum and walk the grounds of the estate. In patriotic celebration, we will enjoy a concert band performance, daytime fireworks, and music of colonial America. This afternoon, we return to the hotel for time to freshen up before we board our Fourth of July Fireworks Cruise. On board, we dine and have a perfect vantage point for the fantastic fireworks display of our nation’s capitol! (B, L, D)
Day 4

This morning we see the Jefferson Memorial and the US Capitol. Also included in today’s sight-seeing is a tour of Ford’s Theatre followed by “One Destiny,” a one-act play about the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. Next, we tour the Kennedy Center before dinner. We dine tonight at Fogo de Chao, an internationally-renowned steakhouse from Brazil, where they have elevated the centuries-old art of roasting high-quality cuts of meat over an open flame. Following dinner we return to the Kennedy Center for a performance of Funny Girl. (B, D) 

Day 5
This morning we visit Arlington Cemetery as well as the Holocaust Museum. We fly home today with inspiring memories of our time in the nation’s capital. (B)
