Monastery Of The Immaculate Conception And Ted’s Musical Marvels

Tuesday, April 7, 2026

Price Per Person: $180 per person

Our first stop is the Monastery of the Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand,
Indiana, often called the “Castle on the Hill.” We take a guided tour and see
beautiful stained-glass windows, hand-carved woodwork and the quiet chapel
where the sisters pray. The guide will share stories about their daily life and the
history of the monastery.

After the tour, we drive to Jasper for lunch at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant. The menu is classic and hearty comfort food with apple strudel to finish. Next, we head to Ted’s Musical Marvels in the town of Dale. The museum is full of restored mechanical musical instruments from around the world
—everything from player pianos, orchestrions to other self-playing instruments, and we get to hear several of them perform! Next, we stop at Family Roots Nursery where the greenhouses are full of color. We take some time to look around and pick out plants for our gardens.
