How Our Tours Work
Registering for a Trip
To join a Jane’s Journeys adventure, you can register in one of two ways:
- Call us at 270-564-7639 and we’ll be happy to help you sign up.
- Visit janesjourneys.com to register online.
If this is your first trip with us, you will need to create an account. We can set this up for you over the phone if you prefer.
To create an account, we will need the following information:
- Full name, Date of birth, Email address, Address, Phone number
- Emergency contact information / Any other relevant details, such as allergies/medical conditions
Payments & Deposits
Deposits are required to hold your spot on any tour.
Final payments are generally due about three months before departure.
- Payments may be made by credit card, check, or bank ACH.
- Save 2% on all payments when using a linked bank account.
- After you register with a deposit, you will receive an email receipt and an email reminder 3–4 days before your final balance is due. If a payment is missed, we will contact you before cancelling your reservation.
Trip Protection
Trip protection is available for all multi-day tours and is recommended.
- We are happy to provide a copy of the policy upon request.
- Refunds vary by trip, but we always do our best to recover any funds available. Trip protection is especially helpful if cancellation occurs close to departure and refunds from our providers are not possible.
Motorcoach Travel
We use 52-seat deluxe motorcoaches, which offer more room than standard 56-seat coaches.
- Food and drinks are welcome on board, except dairy products.
- Our professional drivers take your safety seriously and strive to make your trip comfortable and relaxing.
- During travel, we stop approximately every 2 – 2 1/2 hours for a comfort break.
- Gratuities for bus drivers and tour guides are included in all Jane’s Journeys designed motorcoach tours.
Pickup Locations
We offer convenient pickup points in Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky:
- In Illinois: Sam’s Club in Marion, IL; McDonald’s in Benton, IL; Walmart in Mt. Vernon, IL (for many tours)
- In Kentucky: Home Depot in Paducah, KY (recently added and used for most tours)
We have used these locations for several years with permission from each business. While we have never had issues, we recommend removing valuables from your vehicle before leaving for your journey.
Accommodations & Meals
We preview accommodations ahead of time and choose places where we would feel comfortable staying.
- Your luggage is delivered to your hotel room at each overnight stop.
- On your itinerary, included meals are marked by the following: B-Breakfast; L-Lunch; D-Dinner
Pre-Trip Information
About one month before departure, you will receive a letter by mail that includes your pickup time and location, luggage guidelines, clothing suggestions, information form and a Jane’s Journeys luggage tag.
