Multnomah Falls Pacific Northwest Tour Map

Discover the character and stunning scenery of the Pacific Northwest as we travel through key areas of Washington, Oregon, and California: an amazing wine train through the vineyards of Napa Valley, a walk in the redwoods, and a tour of one of the most majestic parks in America….Yosemite National Park!

Day TwoPike Place Market Flower Stand
Wake up to a delicious made-to-order breakfast at the hotel. We start early today for a Seattle City Tour, including a stop at the Ballard Lock and Fish Ladder. Following our tour, we go to Pike Place Market, a must-see destination in Seattle, where we can explore the many popular options for lunch on your own. Pike Place Market is billed as the oldest, continuously operating swap meet in the United States. It’s an eclectic mix of fresh fish stands, bakeries, flower shoppes, produce havens, and classic restaurants including the oldest existing Starbucks coffee location.

A visit to Seattle would not be complete without a close-up view of Seattle’s token skyline structure, the Space Needle. Here, you can choose to tour the Space Needle or Chihuly Garden and Glass. Either ascend to the indoor observation deck and open-air viewing area located at 520 feet, and an observation level Space Needlefeaturing a revolving glass floor located 500 feet above ground…or…explore Chihuly Garden and Glass. This beautiful exhibition provides a look at the influences that inspire the career of artist Dale Chihuly. Through the exhibition’s eight interior galleries, lush outdoor garden and centerpiece Glasshouse visitors will experience a comprehensive look at Chihuly’s most significant series of work.

Next, we will will enjoy a Seattle Harbor Cruise where we will experience a boat elevator and a lock as we tour the shoreline of this interesting city. Enjoy the spectacular views and experience the transition from salt to fresh water on a Locks Cruise! This fully narrated tour provides you with knowledge, fun facts, and the chance to become the attraction to those on shore as your vessel raises up or lowers, due to the ever-changing tides of Puget Sound.

For dinner, we taste the local cuisine at Fishermans Restaurant, with sunset views of the bay on Seattle’s famous Pier 57. (B, D)

Day Three
Following breakfast at Embassy Suites, we depart Seattle for a tour of some of the best views between Seattle and Portland. Our first stop is Multnomah Falls (see photo at the top), a waterfall fed by underground springs that is the most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest. We make a stop in Hood River for lunch on your own, either at Riverside, a Best Western Plus restaurant, or at a nearby fast food option.

Let’s explore the Hood River Fruit Loop located in the beautiful Hood River Valley at the foot of majestic Mt. Hood. There are 29 stops possible, offering a variety of wines, fruits, vegetables, flowers, ciders, and food. We will visit three of these stops this afternoon along our route: Packer Orchard, Draper Girls Cider Company, and Lavender Valley Farms. Before heading to our hotel, we will drive up to Mt. Hood Timberline Lodge for a gorgeous mountain view.

Rose GardenNow, we head for our Portland hotel, Hampton Inn and Suites Portland Pearl District. There will be a light hotel reception, after which you can get a brief rest before dressing for dinner at the Portland City Grill, located on the 30th floor of the U.S. Bancorp Tower. Following dinner, we make one last Portland visit at the International Rose Test Garden at Washington Park. This is the oldest, continuously operated public rose test garden in the United States. The picturesque garden was established to serve as a testing ground for new rose varieties. (B, D)

Day Four
We depart Portland this morning and head for the coast and Coos Bay, enjoying some special features along the coastal highway. Devils Punchbowl, for example, is a formation in the volcanic rock formed by a collapsed sea cave. We’ll visit Yaquina Head Lighthouse, Oregon’s tallest lighthouse, before landing in Newport, where you can explore lunch on your own and possibly get one of the best bowls of chowder on the Western coast at Mo’s Seafood and Chowder.  As we continue the drive down the coast, we stop at the volcanic, rocky Cooks Chasm. Pacific Coast

Here, you can watch the Spouting Horn blowhole and Thors Well blow water up to 40 feet in the air.

Next, we will have an up-close look at the Oregon Dunes with an added touch of excitement on a Giant Dune Buggy Tour. Informative, scenic and fun describes this one hour dune buggy tour covering approximately 8 miles of dunes and 2 miles of ocean beach. Climbing and descending through the most beautiful, impressive dunes will be an unforgettable experience for travelers coming to the Oregon Coast.

In the evening, we arrive at The Mill Casino Hotel. Waterfront dining in a relaxed atmosphere waits for us in the Plank House Restaurant.  Enjoy your evening here. (B, D)

At one exciting stop in Gold Beach, Oregon, we will speed down an old mail route of the Rogue River on Jerry’s Jets, a nature-based boat tour, safe for all ages. We dine for lunch at The Landing North before we leave Gold Beach, and arrive at the Best Western Plus Humboldt Bay, Eureka.
