Make the most of a day at leisure and see all that Greece as to offer with an island-hopping adventure! Set sail for the tiny islet of Nea Kameni—an uninhabited island that is formed on an active volcano. Make your way up the side of the still-active volcano with your local guide, pausing at the top of the crater for unparalleled views. After exploring, return to the boat to set off for your next destination —Palea Kameni. Similar to Nea Kameni, this islet is also of volcanic descent. Jump into the water and swim to the island’s rejuvenating hot springs, where you will find ethereal sulfuric waters and therapeutic mud—or choose to relax on the boat. Continue on to Thirassia, an authentic island that embodies the traditional culture of Greece. Enjoy a Greek buffet onboard and take in an unparalleled view of the island as you dine. After dinner, make a stop close to Oia as the sun sets. Marvel as the sky turns shades of orange and gold before sailing back to port. This option needs to be purchased one week prior to departure. Availability for purchase while on tour is not guaranteed. Duration: Approximately 7 hours. Please note a minimum of 10 passengers is required. Transportation is included.
- Mykonos – Flavors of Mykonos $150
Immerse yourself in the flavors of the cycladic Islands during a tour of Mykonos’ culinary gems. Begin the morning at a local farm where you hear about the variety of olive trees and the flavors they produce. Learn the basic principles of olive oil from an expert and put your taste buds to the test as you sample varying types and quality of this Greek staple, including the prized Extra Virgin Oil (EEVO). Then, learn about the traditions and history of cheese making, a craft that in Mykonos achieves almost the status of a local art form with secrets passed down through the generations. Sample Xinotiro, Kopanisti, Vrasto cheeses and freshly-made yogurt, all produced at the farm. Later, explore more flavors of the island at a local bakery in Chora, Mykonos’ Old Town, where the same family has been operating a traditional wood fired oven for more than two centuries. Relish some of the delectable treats before enjoying free time to uncover the winding lanes of Chora independently. Duration: Approximately 7.5 hours. Please note a minimum of 15 passengers is required. Transportation is included.
3. Mykonos – Ancient Delos: Apollo’s Sacred Island $135
Take a step into the past with a half-day excursion to the island of Delos, the fabled birthplace of Apollo and Artemis. After a quick 30-minute boat ride, allow your guide to introduce you to this sprawling UNESCO site. See how the Greek myths intertwine with prehistoric ruins, passing through narrow streets from the Hellenistic age. Tour the awe-inspiring House of Dionysus, a relic from the 4th-century BC containing ancient mosaics and preserved columns. Peruse the Temple of Apollo, the Sacred Lake, and the guardian Naxian Lions with your guide before enjoying time to explore independently. Take in views of the Sacred Island of Delos as you ferry back to Mykonos. Duration of guided tour is 90 minutes and is subject to favorable weather conditions. The overall activity level of this tour is a level 3. This means you’re an on-the-go traveler. You don’t want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (1-2 hours) isn’t a big deal. You can navigate hills and uneven ground, climb into various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, ferries, etc.), and could possibly anticipate changes in elevation. You can expect some longer days balanced with free-time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. In order to access the Acropolis archeological site, you will be required to climb about 30-40 uneven steps and walking over rugged terrain with loose stones and without railings. You will be travelling by public ferryboats between Athens, Mykonos and Santorini. In addition to handling your own luggage on and off the ferries, you must be prepared to climb 1 or 2 flights of steep steps to access the passenger section of the ferryboats. If you require a walker or wheelchair, or have difficulty walking, you may find these transfers challenging and may want to consider an alternate tour.
Please be advised many airlines do not provide advance seat assignments until check in at the airport. Advance seating will be subject to the airline’s terms and conditions.
