The Greenbrier, nicknamed America’s Resort, is an award-winning resort located in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia. As a National Historic landmark, The Greenbrier Resort’s classic architecture, exquisite interior design, carefully sculpted landscape, impeccable service and outstanding amenities have hosted distinguished guests from around the world since 1778. The holidays at The Greenbrier are a magical time! The halls are decked with holiday happiness and seasonal sensations abound everywhere with dazzling decorations and electrifying light displays as well as over 100 different themed Christmas trees. This 6,500- acre winter wonderland has been called a can’t miss holiday attraction by Southern Living Magazine.


Day 1:
Travel to Barboursville, West Virginia to overnight at Hampton Inn. Dinner on your own at Cracker Barrel, adjacent to the hotel.

Day 2:
Following breakfast, we depart for Tamarack for shopping and lunch on your own. Tamarack’s highly acclaimed display team creates multiple visual effects using products created by a variety of artisans.  Trends and traditions, as well as unusual specialty products are among the long list of artisan-made Tamarack items. Metal, apparel, jewelry, souvenirs, wood, glass, furniture, pottery, outdoor decor, fine art, fine craft, musical instrument, music, books, and homemade specialty food items and candies are all on the Tamarack shopping list. 

A Taste of West Virginia —Tamarack’s restaurant offers unique selections and many options: a deli for sandwiches, soups and salads; a grill for full meals and entrees; a bakery for sweet treats. Every item is made fresh while you wait. Among the many favorites are the fried green tomato sandwich and the rainbow trout. 

Fine Arts Gallery —Fine art and fine craft, as well as paintings, photography, mixed media work and other stunning and imaginative pieces are on display and for sale in the David L. Dickirson Fine Arts Gallery. Six shows a year focus on themes which bring out the best in West Virginia’s artists.

We then depart for THE GREENBRIER. America’s Resort comes to life with 60 Days of Holiday Cheer including festive activities, sparkling decorations, tasty holiday creations, inspiring music and much more, the spirit of the season flows throughout The Greenbrier’s 11,000 acres as new memories are made and longtime traditions renewed. Whether sipping on a unique winter cocktail around a cozy fire, taking an enthusiastic splash in the heated indoor pool or bundled up tight as you glide gracefully around the Ice Skating Rink, you’ll be refreshed and energized by a holiday excursion to The Greenbrier. Upon arrival, there will be free time for exploring before we check in. Dinner is included tonight. (B, D)

DAY 3:
Breakfast and dinner are included today. The remainder of the day is yours to explore this beautiful resort and property. You will receive a daily calendar featuring hour by hour scheduling as well as special events and activities to help you plan your stay at America’s Resort. (B, D)

Day 4:
Following breakfast this morning, we depart for home with wonderful memories of Christmas at the Greenbrier Resort. Taking our necessary breaks, we will arrive home early evening. (B)

Main Dining Room

The Greenbrier’s excellence is perhaps best exemplified by the exceptional dining experiences offered in our six full time restaurants/cafés, three seasonal restaurants/cafés and five bars/lounges. Regardless of venue or menu, every meal at The Greenbrier is truly exquisite.

Dress code for Main Dining Room breakfast is resort casual; collared shirts for gentlemen. For those who prefer denim, only well kept, dark denim is acceptable. Fitness and sports apparel are not permitted at any time in the Main Dining Room.

Dining reservations are required. During the day, “resort casual” dress is appropriate.

Dress code for dinner in the Main Dining Room is jacket and tie for gentlemen, dresses or suits for ladies.

Dress code for most areas of the property is resort casual: collared sports shirts, golf and/or tennis sweaters, shirts or blouses and slacks.

Sleigh Ride

Embrace a longstanding winter tradition with a cozy ride through the property in a horse-drawn sleigh. Get cozy inside the blanket and travel over the river and through the woods, exploring the beauty of The Greenbrier’s 11,000 acres. 


Our 20-minute ride in an open-air Jeep-pulled trolley tour allows guests to take in the amazing light display which illuminates the grounds with thousands of twinkling lights.

Trolley Light Tour

The secret is out! The declassified Bunker at The Greenbrier is a must-see experience that takes you behind the scenes and walks you through a fascinating period in the resort’s history. Carved deep into the mountainside beneath our West Virginia Wing is an emergency Cold War fallout shelter. Once a top-secret U.S. government relocation facility for Congress, The Bunker is now open to anyone interested in reliving a legendary piece of The Greenbrier history.
