Learn more about the history of the sailing ship from the earliest known civilizations up to modern times. David will show us his workshop and sit down to dinner with us surrounded by these amazing works of art! There will also be free time to enjoy the gift shop following dinner. (D)

Day 2
This morning, we will be joined by our local guide for a back-country roads tour with the following stops.

Amish and Mennonite Heritage Center: where you’ll see the 260 ft x 10 ft circular mural, showcasing the early history of the Amish and Mennonite, up through modern times, an informative pro-gram, then some free time to see the film and gift shop.

We’ll also visit Homestead Furniture for a factory tour and shopping at their showroom. Watch Amish artisans create the beautiful handcrafted furniture they are known for then enjoy browsing the gallery to view the gorgeous finished products!

Next stop is Lehman’s Hardware, with lunch on your own at the café and free time to browse the fabulous country store where the old meets the new! Lehman’s features the non-electrical items the Amish use in their homes, green friendly products, NEW old-fashioned products, and tons of wonderful kitchen gadgets, toys, housewares, books, stoves, oil lamps, and so much more! This is a really fun stop!

We just have to stop at P. Graham Dunn Woodworking and Laser Art Gallery, where we’ll watch craftsmen engrave inspirational messages into beautiful wood crafts, then enjoy free time to browse the gorgeous gallery and showroom.

We will then return to the Inn for a break, with free time to enjoy shops near the Inn or just relax.

P. Graham Dunn Woodworking

Tonight, we will enjoy a delicious dinner in an Amish home followed by Amish Country Theater Musical and Comedy Variety Show. The show features two hours of hilarious comedy skits, live bluegrass music, fabulous ventriloquist Ken Groves, musical parodies, and of course plenty of fun with Cousin Lynryd! Lots of fun audience participation as well! We will then return to the hotel. (B, D)

Day 3
This morning, following breakfast, we will depart with our guide for Hershberger Bakery and Farmers Market. Enjoy the best Amish baked goods featuring their famous “fry pies,” stuffed cookies, cream sticks, jams, jellies, noodles, locally made arts, crafts, and fresh local produce. There are farm animals to enjoy looking at, including Big King, largest Belgian Draft Horse in the U.S.!

Then it’s off to Heini’s Cheese Chalet, where there will be over 85 sample varieties of locally made cheeses from local Amish farm milk.

A stop at Wendell August Forge is next, bringing heritage design and fine craftsmanship into the 21st century with personalized ornaments, home-ware, & more. It is the last remaining working forge in the state!

We will then stop at Der Dutchman in Walnut Creek for lunch on your own, and a little time to browse the shops in town.
